This product must be sustainable from the prodution to the end of life, each Gen3 tire will end up his life in a specific factory in Spain where it will be reused to create new product.
Working contidion range from extremly hot to extremly cold, from prefect dry to heavy rain and exaclty as is required to everydays tires the Ion Sport must always work with the best performace possible regardless of external condition. This constrain will create a huge technology transfer for the race to the everyday life because every solution found in FE will also be effective regular tire.
The secret of this tire is the dual compound and the dual thread design, the outer half of the tire is designed to be best performing in dry hot condition while the inner half of the tire (the side closer to the vehicle centerline) is optimized for wet cold condition. Teams will need to find the optimal camber angle to use the tire in the best possible way.
The Hankook workshop with tire and tools supporting the race is alredy on his way to the racetrack. There are multiple copies of the workshop and already the first 3 races are covered with material shippped form the logistic headquarter in Livorno, Itally.
The sensori inside the rim detect temperature and pressure and is used to monitor this values both for safety and for insure that teams follow the tire manufacturer indication for maximum and miniimum pressure allowed.
